Ho Chi Minh (vietn. Ho Chi Minh, Chi-no ???) (May 19, 1890, Kimlin, namdang district, Nghe an province, French Indochina — September 2, 1969, Hanoi, Vietnam) is a Vietnamese politician and follower of Marxism-Leninism, a member of the French Communist party in 1920, a prominent leader of the Comintern, the founder of the Vietnamese Communist party (1930) and the Communist party of Indochina (1930), Creator of the Viet Minh (1941), leader of the August revolution (1945), the first President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (1945) and the founder of the National liberation front of South Vietnam ("Viet Cong") (1960).
