The order of Malta has the status of observer organization at the United Nations and the Council of Europe. Has diplomatic relations with 105 States, supported by a large number of ambassadors. Under international law the order of Malta is gosudarstvennyi education, the order presents itself as a state. The sovereignty of the order of Malta is considered at the level of diplomatic missions, but not as the sovereignty of the state. Sometimes considered a dwarf state.
The order issues its own passport, prints its own currency and stamps. Has postal agreements with approximately 70-80 countries.
