Obverse: Fragment of monument to founders of Kiev.
The monument to founders of Kiev was installed in 1982 in honor of founders of Kyiv. Horeb, Kyi, Schek and sister Lybid according to the legend, reflected in the Russian Chronicles of XI—XII centuries, were princes in breeding Association of the field and the founders of three settlements, later formed the city of Kiev. The authors — sculptor V. 3. Boroday, architect N. M. Feshchenko.

Hagia Sophia (St. Sophia Cathedral) — temple, built in the first half of the XI century in the centre of Kiev, according to the chronicle, Prince Yaroslav the Wise on the site of the victory in 1037 over the Pechenegs. At the turn of XVII—XVIII centuries were externally rebuilt in the Ukrainian Baroque style. Inside the Cathedral are preserved the worlds most complete ensemble of authentic mosaics (260 m2) and frescos (3000 m2) in the first half of the XI century, and substantial fragments of frescoes of the XVII—XVIII centuries.
In Soviet times, was an active Church until 1929, and in 1934 became a Museum — Sofia reserve. Now is the heart of the National reserve "Sophia of Kyiv", one of the largest Museum centers of Ukraine, which also includes the Golden gate XI century, St. Cyril's Church of the XII century and St. Andrew's Church of XVIII century in Kiev.
In 1990 St. Sophia Cathedral and Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, became the first UNESCO world heritage monument of architecture in territory of Ukraine.
