The state emblem of the Democratic people's Republic is an oval of rice ears, intertwined red ribbon with the inscription "the Democratic people's Republic". Inside the oval are powerful hydroelectric power plant, and above it is the sacred mountain of the revolution Paektu and red five-pointed star, from which bright rays diverge. The coat of arms created in accordance with all fundamental principles of the basic design of the coat of arms of the Soviet Union adopted in many other countries, clearly indicates a connection with Communist ideology.
Downside: people's Palace of Study in Pyongyang - the national library of the DPRK. The library building is located on the square named after Kim Il sung on the shore of the Taedong river. The Pyongyang people's Palace of study was built in April 1982 and opened in honor of the 70th anniversary of Kim Il sung. The construction lasted 21 months. The building is designed in traditional Korean style.
