The battle of Stalingrad was a major event of World war II. The battle consisted of a siege by the Wehrmacht in Stalingrad (modern Volgograd), the confrontation between the city and the red army counteroffensive (operation Uranus), in which VI the army of the Wehrmacht and other forces of Germany's allies in and around the city was surrounded and massacred a part of the captured.
The reverse: relief image of a fragment of the memorial "Heroes of Stalingrad" along the rim at the rim – inscriptions, separated by two asterisks, above: "BATTLE of STALINGRAD", bottom: "the GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR of 1941-1945".
