The Viking fleet consisted mainly of warships, called Drakkari, and of the merchant ships cnarrow. Ships could serve as temporary housing — they can be dragged to get to the beach (they had a strong keel), and fixing, can be equipped as a house. Warships was initially rowing, but further (in accordance with the General trend of development of the fleet) the Vikings began to be used in addition to the sail, and then completely abandoned the oars.
