Abubakar tafawa balewa, local Govt (1 October 1912, Bauchi, Nigeria protectorate — January 15, 1966, Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian politician, the first Prime Minister of independent Nigeria. Abubakar tafawa balewa, local Govt adhered to Pro-Western policies and was awarded from the British Queen the title of sir. He belonged to the Hausa and was repeatedly accused by representatives of other Nations in the protection of their countrymen. In 1966 a military coup overthrew him and killed him.
