Aires de Ornelas and Vasconcelos (5 Mar 1866 -14 Dec 1930 ) - 1st Lord of Dornelas and Canico, the 15th Lord of Morgado to Canico (Madeira). Was a soldier, a writer of the last period of the Portuguese constitutional monarchy. Being a military man, he has succeeded in Campaigns of conquest and pacification of the Portuguese colonies in Africa. He was one of the most dedicated Portuguese Africanists, the Governor-General of Mozambique (1896 to 1898), Minister of the Navy overseas territories, chaired by joão Franco (1906-1907). Has published several works on the campaigns in Africa and the experience of the colonial administration of Portugal.
