Jericho, Jericho is a city in the territory of the Palestinian national authority, the West Bank of the Jordan river. Is the capital of the province of Jericho, population 20 416 Palestinians.
One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, according to some researchers, the oldest of them. Repeatedly mentioned in the Bible, where it is referred to as the "city of palm trees" (Hebrew. IR ha-Temarim) (Deut. 34:3, Court. 3:13, 2 Chronicles. 28:15).
