Sayyid Ruhollah Mostafavi Musavi Khomeini or Imam Khomeini (24 September 1902, Khomein, Persia — June 3, 1989, Tehran, Iran) is an Iranian political figure, the Grand Ayatollah, the leader of the Islamic revolution of 1979 in Iran. The Supreme leader of Iran from 1979 to 1989.
Mazar of Imam Reza (Mausoleum) — the architectural complex in the city of Mashhad, a center of tourism and pilgrimage in Iran, visited annually 15-20 million people. Besides the tomb of al-Reza the complex includes the revered tombs of other imams, Museum, library, cemetery, mosque and some other buildings. Most of the buildings were erected during the reign of Timurid and Safavid, although the first dated the construction is decorated with an inscription beginning of the XIV century, the construction of the dome belong to the beginning of the XIII century
Downside: the Dome of the Rock (Masjid qubbat As-Sakhra) is a Muslim sanctuary on the Foundation stone on the Temple mount in Jerusalem, next to the world's oldest al-Aqsa mosque. Is one of the main shrines of Islam. Among the monuments of the Old town is a UNESCO world heritage site.
