To the West of mainland Greece is a group of Islands known as the Ionian (Greek. ?????????? ?????? ??????).This large seven main Islands (Corfu, Paxos, Lefkada, Ithaca, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Kythira) and several small ones. Some of which are uninhabited.
Obverse: In the center of the disc — the seven-pointed star, symbolizing the 7 major Ionian Islands. The text inside the star in 8 lines: "150 ?????? ??? ??? ????? ??? ????????? ?? ??? ?????? 1864-2014 ???????? ??????????" ("150-ANNIVERSARY UNION OF IONIAN ISLANDS WITH GREECE 1864-2014 HELLENIC REPUBLIC"). It's the mark of a mint — leaf of an acanthus. Between the rays of the star are the symbols of these Islands are (from top clockwise): • ship the item flag of Corfu; • sacrificial tripod of Apollo — the symbol of Lefkada; • portrait of Ulysses king of Ithaca in the helmet of pilos; • the Trident of Poseidon — the element of one of the symbols of the island Paxos; • Aphrodite, born from island Kythira, sitting on the sink next to the goddess is a sign of the artist — letter "M" in a circle; • of the harp, which according to myth, Apollo loved to play on the island Zakynthos; • Kefal (a character in Greek mythology) with his dog, after whom is named Kefalonia.
