The coat of arms of Germany — the official state symbols of the Federal Republic of Germany. The image is a black eagle with red paws on a gold background. Eagle on a gold background appeared in the times of Charles the Great the emblem of the Holy Roman Empire. In XV century the eagle became double-headed with a single crown above the two heads. Later, in the nineteenth century the double-headed eagle became the symbol of power (the arms) of Austria-Hungary.
