Series "History and culture of Belarus" - 200th anniversary of the birth of Ignacy Domeyko
Ignacy Domeyko, Ignacy Domeyko — geologist, mineralogist, geographer and ethnologist, long-standing rector of the University of Chile and a member of many scientific societies, one of the most famous students of Vilno University and a national hero of Chile.
Obverse: in the circle framed by a geometric pattern – the relief image of the State emblem of the Republic of Belarus, under it the year of coinage; inscriptions along the circle: in the upper part – "the REPUBLIC of BELARUS" at the bottom – "AZN RUBEL".
Reverse: on the right – the relief image of a portrait of Ignacy Domeyko, on the left – the relief image of a geological hammer to his left – the relief image of mountains; lower left – inscription in four lines "GNAT DAMAKA 1802-1889"; in the bottom right – the relief image of a fragment of a mountain range in the Andes, named in honor of I. Domeyko, and the words "CORDILLERA DE DOMEYKO".
