40 years of independence.
1975, November 11 — independence of Angola. The first President of Angola becomes the leader of the Pro-Soviet group MPLA, Agostinho Neto, whose troops occupy Luanda — the administrative center of Angola. However, the independence does not bring peace to Angola. Began long civil war for power in the country, between Pro-American and Pro-Soviet MPLA, UNITA and FNLA.
